MATTHEW KURNICKI

Matthew Kurnicki received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Montreal in 1967 and became a registered Architect in Quebec in 1968. Upon his arrival to Vancouver in 1979, Matthew became a registered Architect in British Columbia. He spent the next 10 years working for Howard Yano Architects. This was followed by 7 years at Waisman Dewar Grout Carter/ Architectura where he developed a close working relationship with the partners at Proscenium collaborating on such projects as the Vancouver International Airport and Evergreen Cultural Centre.

Matthew joined Proscenium in 1996 to work on the Stanley Theatre and the Queen Elizabeth Theatre before continuing his professional development with Levelton Engineering where he assumed the responsibility of lead building envelope specialist. Matthew returned to Proscenium in 2005 to oversee the firm’s technical design and documentation standards. In addition to project specific detailing and building envelope design, Matthew uses his vast experience to monitor all of the construction documentation and is a key resource in the office.
