PAI Team: Meet Anicka, Intern!

Introducing Anicka Bertram!

Anicka is with us for a limited time as an interior design intern. It’s been wonderful to have her in the office!

Where is your role at PAI?

I am an intern at the office, trying to learn as much about architecture and interior design as I can in the short time I am here.

Where were you born?

I was born in Chemnitz, Germany.

What made you want to do interior design?

My mother is an architect and I grew up always seeing her working on projects. That inspired me to follow into her footsteps.

What’s next for you?

I’ll apply to my dream school in Germany when I go back home in December. Bevor school starts next October, I have two more internships and some travelling planned.

Name a building that is your design inspo!

It’s hard to only choose one, but I really like “das Kaufhaus Schocken” in my hometown Chemnitz. It was designed by Erich Mendelson in the 1920s. It used to be a shopping mall and now is a archeological museum.

Your favourite restaurant in Vancouver is…

Unfortunately I have not been going out that much so that I have a favorite restaurant, so I would have to say my grandmas kitchen 😉

You never leave home without…

Lip balm.

Your Great Escape would be to…  

I don’t really know to be honest. I’d go wherever the wind takes me.

What single piece of technology makes your life easier?

My phone I guess.

If you were an animal what animal would you be?

My friends tell me that I give out lama energy, but if you ask me I think I would be an owl.

What word do you have trouble saying?

I have a couple of words I find hard to pronounce, like the word similar.
