Evergreen Cultural Centre

Located in Coquitlam’s Town Centre, Evergreen Cultural Centre is a community cultural facility and focal point for the local arts and culture scene. The facility includes a 275-seat studio theatre, art gallery, visual arts teaching studios, rehearsal hall and retail spaces.

Evergreen was designed to take full advantage of its lakeside setting including the natural vertical elevation that allows for a separation between the main theatre seating space and the public circulation areas. A unique feature of the facility is its flexible main auditorium which can be configured for either end-stage or flat-floor use, allowing for a variety of uses. Its high ceiling height and interior seating ledges provide excellent acoustics.

The planning for the project included provisions for the eventual addition of a 600-seat playhouse theatre and a lobby that will provide a panoramic view of the lakeshore — this element of the project is not yet realized.
