Located in Mount Pleasant, 34 West 7th is a versatile 48,000 square foot strata unit office building that addresses the strong need for dedicated office space within the neighbourhood. The design takes advantage of the site’s positioning by maximizing mountain views to the north, with stepped massing that allows each tenant a spatially private, south facing terrace. A large fourth-floor exterior deck overlooks Jonathan Roger’s Park to the west. Conceptually, the massing is organized as a series of horizontally stacked boxes dissected by the vertical plane of the circulation feature stair and the elevator. The building’s spatial functionality is met equally with its confident, striking visual presence and rich materiality.
